[img_assist|nid=114|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=82|height=152] Zekiah Technologies, Inc. is pleased to announce it has been named Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI)'s New Business Partner of the Year for 2003 in the Washington, DC region. ESRI is the world's leading vendor of geographic information systems (GIS) software and solutions. GIS is used to integrate and analyze geographically referenced, tabular and temporal data in intuitive, map-based interfaces. Zekiah became an ESRI Authorized Consultant to enhance its activities integrating ESRI GIS software at several client sites.
Zekiah was accepted into the program in March of 2002. Companies that have been in the ESRI business partner program for less than two years are eligible for the New Business Partner award. Zekiah accepted the award at the ESRI Worldwide Business Partners Conference in Palm Springs, CA. Excited to be recognized as a symbol of GIS/technical leadership in Southern Maryland, Zekiah seeks to use its leading role to bring additional high-tech jobs to Charles and St. Mary's counties. Additionally, Zekiah provides technical services to customers in the Fredericksburg/Dahlgren and Tidewater areas of Virginia.
ESRI stated that the reason that Zekiah was chosen for this award was that, "as an active member of the ESRI beta test community, it is encouraging its clients to be early adopters of the enterprise GIS architecture and tracking server technologies. Zekiah provides on-site services support and application development for several noteworthy Department of Defense clients. …. This past year has been a true collaboration between Zekiah's senior staff and ESRI's defense team. ESRI and Zekiah have both prospered through shared services opportunities while garnering ESRI more than $250,000 in software sales."
Bill Dollins, Director of Zekiah's GIS Integration Services unit, has said, "We are pleased that ESRI has recognized our commitment to their GIS software. We joined the program because of our belief that ESRI produces the best GIS software on the market and the program helps us better leverage our past experience with their products. This award is really recognition of the outstanding work our on-site employees have been providing for our clients. Without the expertise of our staff, this would not have been possible."
