Chris Marques of Zekiah Technlogies, Inc. has earned his certification as a GIS Professional (GISP) by the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI). Mr. Marques has been with Zekiah for nearly three years serving first as a GIS Analyst and now as the Technical Lead on his current project. The GISP certification will assist Marques in his current role supporting Department of Homeland Security where his team produces virtual and static map products in order to protect against, respond to and recover from all threats and hazards.

Zekiah Technologies, Inc., a software engineering and geospatial information systems (GIS) firm, has been awarded a Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification, a U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification, and a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certification.

The certifications, administered through MDOT, qualify Zekiah to conduct business as an MBE/DBE/SBE for any state-funded contract and U.S. Department of Transportation funded contracts in its areas of expertise, including custom software solutions, systems design, and GIS solutions.

Members of Zekiah's geospatial staff have been busy speaking at industry events this summer. Zekiah Vice President Eric Mahaffey (below) spoke at the Esri International User Conference in San Diego, California, giving a talk titled "Fully Automated Export to PDF with Embedded Tables Using Python" in which he discussed the process implemented for automating static map production for homeland security applications. Zekiah partner and Senior Vice President Bill Dollins was recently named as one of 10 appointees to the State of Maryland's Council on Open Data. Legislation establishing the council was signed into law by Governor Martin O'Malley in April of 2014. Mr. Dollins was appointed to a term that runs through May 31, 2018.

Zekiah Technologies, Inc. has been awarded a contract from the Mission Assurance Division at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Virginia. The contract was a competitively-bid small business set-aside and Zekiah lead a team that includes Booz Allen Hamilton, ArdentMC, and Esri.

Zekiah Technologies, Inc. is part of a team assembled by Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), which has been awarded a competitively bid, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, multiple award contract from the U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Command for Marine Corps Logistics Support Services (MCLOGSS). The CTC team is comprised of 20 large businesses and 18 small businesses. 
The contract has a $170 million ceiling in year one and contains options, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative combined value to over $854 million. Work will be performed globally and could continue until May 2018 if all options are exercised.
