Today Filnet, an award winning information technology firm, announces a small business alliance with network management firm New Vision Engineering Group and applications developer Zekiah Technologies, Inc. Together, the three companies will build business solutions teams that can meet the full requirements of forthcoming IT contracting opportunities at local, state and Federal government organizations. Each company will also leverage its own contracting vehicles to accelerate the government procurement process.

Land’s End Business Outfitters selected Charles County business Zekiah Technologies’ eye-catching logo to be featured in the January 2006 catalog. The logo is featured on page 54 on their hat collection. Land’s End distributes 269 million catalogs a year, one of which is Land’s End Business Outfitters.

Congressman Steny Hoyer visited the La Plata headquarters of Zekiah Technologies on March 10, 2005. Zekiah staff introduced the Congressman to some of their various Department of Defense projects and Geographic Information Systems. Many of the Zekiah employees also had the opportunity to meet with Congressman Hoyer personally.

Zekiah Technologies, Inc. participated in The 8th Annual "Maryland Day" Run/Fun Walk for Hospice in Leonardtown on Saturday, March 29, 2003. Zekiah has participated in this event since 2000 and each year the number of runners and walkers Zekiah brings to the event increases. This year was the largest group with over 60 participants. Zekiah employees, family and friends all come out to support this fundraiser for Hospice of St. Mary's County.

(ESRI)'s New Business Partner of the Year for 2003 in the Washington, DC region. ESRI is the world's leading vendor of geographic information systems (GIS) software and solutions. GIS is used to integrate and analyze geographically referenced, tabular and temporal data in intuitive, map-based interfaces. Zekiah became an ESRI Authorized Consultant to enhance its activities integrating ESRI GIS software at several client sites.

As with any tool, training is a vital part of the day-to-day GIS usage at SJFHQ-HLS. Internal ArcInfo training has been conducted utilizing the command’s GIS engineer, Sharon Litteral of Zekiah Technologies, Inc. Zekiah Technologies specializes in integrating GIS into traditional information technology architectures by introducing tools that capitalize on the inherent spatial characteristics of data used by an organization. “Training allows users to perform individual analysis based on their specialty in a visual format,” states Litteral.

Sharon Litteral has joined the firm as a GIS Engineer, supporting the U.S. Northern Command in Norfolk, VA. She brings with her strong technical and project management skills and has worked as an Oracle Database Administrator/Programmer, with experience managing and customizing ArcSDE and ArcIMS using C++ and ASP. She graduated with honors in 1992 with an AAS in Computer Information Systems specializing in programming.
